My Rambling Introduction

So lets start out with the name of the blog. I get it from that one Beck song, "Loser." I'm not actually a loser, but I sure do tease myself and everyone about me being one. By the way, my name's Ryan Quinn Mach. No jokes about the middle name, please. The middle name comes from my parent's at a Grateful Dead Concert. But I digress. I'm trying to get into Harvard, even though I go to a school in the middle of nowhere, I'm "that guy" that you love to tease (and, admittedly, I do stuff that's tease worthy), I try to be a bit of sunshine for everyone, and I have a story about EVERYTHING! Let me start out with this one: my ankle story. Two years ago, I would have been a sophomore in high school, I was playing football for the Burns Bulldogs. It was my birthday, and I was playing a JV game. They sent me in to play linebacker for the first time ever during the game (I used to play O-Line and D-Line), and I kind of dominated. I was supposed to go on to play Varsity ball later that year. Anyway, after I went home, I was opening up all my presents with my new Smith & Wesson pocket knife (It's really sharp apparently!), and I managed to cut my ankle. Severed an artery, came ***this*** close to severing my Achille's, all sorts of badness. Clearly, I lived. But I didn't get back to football again. But that's ok! Because instead I went to go into ROTC, and I'm now in charge of our local program. And everyone lived happily ever after. That's just one story by the way. More to come, I assure you :)
